Top 3 Local Dog Walks

We know we’re your favourite biscuit-dispensing (plus dog-friendly staycation-ing) local pub. And so, it’s fair to say that we know a thing or two about what makes your furry friend happy.

We’ve sniffed out the top 3 dog walks in our neck of the woods. Whether you’re after a quick round-the-block leg-stretcher or a full-blown fields-and-forests stomp, we’ve got the lowdown on the all the good walks.

Of course, every wag-worthy walkies deserves a post-walk pint (or bowl of water and a snooze, depending on species). So leash up, lace up, and let us lead you through our tail-waggingly glorious guide to Surrey walks your dog will dream about.

Beddington Park

This dog walk is one of pub dog Cash’s faves – and is a swift 10 minute walk from us.

It’s just a 2 minute drive (and comes with a handy-dandy car park)  if you’re having a must-bring-everything walk. From the gorgeous ponds, spacious greenery, to the bird feeders, it’s sure to tire out your pup (enough to pop back to the pub).

You may see one of our beloved regulars, Mark. He organised, created and
fully funded the bird feeder project, to allow the community to have a chance to connect with nature and improve their mental health. He loves to chat about all things nature, don’t be afraid to say hi.

Carshalton Ponds

Carshalton Ponds (also known locally as The Grove) is a 12- minute walk. As you probably guessed from the name, it’s a gorgeous picturesque nature walk alongside artificial ponds which hold years of history.

A perfect place to go for a dog walk whilst taking in some historical sights. There’s also an interactive park (for when you need to tire the kids out too), which has climbing frames, swings and all things fun.

Our friends Colum & Annemarie run The Greyhound pub nearby too and have a very cute puppy called Barry (he’d love a visit from you.)

Mellows Park

Last, but certainly not least, Mellows park is a 25 minute walk away from the pub. It has that all important beautiful grasslands as well as a car park, and extra street spaces for those everyone’s gone-to-the-park days.

It also homes a small cafe within the park, giving you freedom to walk your pooch and grab yourself some nibbles and grab space to hydrate and refuel. You’ll also find a basketball/football cage (perfect for practice) and a recently updated tennis court.

Back to the Pub

So there you go, our barkingly brilliant round-up of the best local walkies.

When your four-legged explorer has sniffed every blade of grass and you’re in desperate need of a sit-down-and-a-sip, you know where to find us. We’ve got roaring fires (in winter), a suntrap beer garden (in summer), dog treats behind the bar, and quite possibly the best chips in Surrey (this is a fact).

See you soon for post-pooch-mooch cuddles, craft ales, and celebratory snacks (sloppy kisses welcome).
